7 December 2025
On 7 December, FFOTRA, alongside the Tenant Participation Team, supported Steelworks Brae TRA with their Santa's Grotto event. Despite the poor weather, it was wonderful to see so many children and families come along to visit Santa and receive a special gift. Every child was given a present, helping to spread plenty of festive cheer. The event also featured special appearances from Mrs Claus, Frosty the Snowman, Elfie, Angel, and of course, Sandy the Dog!
Well done to Steelworks Brae for all their hard work and dedication in making Christmas truly special for their community.
There was no shortage of laughter at Steelworks Brae on Friday 16th August, as the TRA welcomed residents to their Fun Day - a gathering that brought the whole neighbourhood to life.
The weather tried its best to interfere, with strong winds attempting to sweep away some of the planned outdoor activities. But the community's spirit proved stronger. The indoor bouncy castle quickly became a favourite spot for families, while delicious smells from the food van drifted in the air, drawing people together for a chat and a bite to eat.
Games, stalls, and plenty of friendly faces kept the atmosphere buzzing throughout the day. The fire brigade and police joined in too, adding an extra bit of excitement (and a lot of curiosity from the children!)
What made the event truly special was the support from neighbouring TRAs, who turned up to show their encouragement. It was a reminder of how connected these communities are - and how much can be achieved when people come together.
Despite the gusty weather, the day was a resounding success. Steelworks Brae TRA continues to demonstrate what community resilience looks like: adapting, showing up, and celebrating together.
